Rooted in Joi Maternal Wellness provides maternal wellness support, advocacy, education, resource navigation, and coaching services designed to support women during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and motherhood.

The information, resources, products, and services provided through Rooted in Joi are for educational and informational purposes only and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical or mental health condition.

Stephanie Anderson, CMA, BSHS, CPPC, is a Certified Medical Assistant and Maternal Wellness Support & Advocacy Specialist. While she brings healthcare-informed knowledge, professional experience, and lived maternal experience to her work, she does not provide medical care, mental health counseling, therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services.

Clients are encouraged to maintain an ongoing relationship with their physician, midwife, therapist, mental health provider, or other licensed healthcare professionals and should always seek appropriate medical care for health concerns, emergencies, or symptoms requiring professional evaluation.

Any recommendations, referrals, resources, educational materials, or wellness practices shared through Rooted in Joi are intended to support informed decision-making and should not replace individualized medical advice from a licensed healthcare provider.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, mental health crisis, or thoughts of self-harm, call 911, contact your healthcare provider, or seek emergency assistance immediately.

By using this website, purchasing products, booking services, or participating in programs offered by Rooted in Joi Maternal Wellness, you acknowledge and agree to this disclaimer.

Policies

Booking Policy

ROOTED IN JOI BOOKING POLICY

Thank you for choosing Rooted in Joi Maternal Wellness. Every session and program is created with care, intention, and a commitment to supporting you through pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood.

Consultation Calls: Your Discovery Call is complimentary and allows us to connect and determine if Rooted in Joi is the right fit for your needs.

Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed upon. Your payment secures your appointment and allows time for preparation and personalized support.

Rescheduling: If you need to reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible.

Cancellations & No-Shows: Appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled session and missed appointments without notice are non-refundable.

Refunds: Due to the personalized nature of services, all sales are final. Individual sessions are non-refundable once completed, and program payments are non-refundable after the first session.

Late Arrivals: If you are running late, please notify me as soon as possible. Sessions will end at the scheduled time.

Scope of Services: Rooted in Joi provides maternal wellness support, education, advocacy, care navigation, resource connection, and coaching services. These services do not replace medical, mental health, or emergency care.

By booking, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these policies and are committing to your support, growth, and well-being.

Scope of Practice

SCOPE OF PRACTICE

Rooted in Joi Maternal Wellness provides non-clinical maternal wellness support, advocacy, education, resource navigation, and coaching services for women during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and motherhood.

Services may include:

• Maternal wellness support and guidance
• Pregnancy and postpartum education
• Emotional wellness support
• Self-care and wellness planning
• Resource and referral coordination
• Advocacy support and appointment preparation
• Postpartum planning and recovery support
• Goal setting and accountability
• Community and support system development
• Wellness-focused coaching and encouragement

Rooted in Joi is designed to complement—not replace—the care provided by licensed healthcare professionals.

Rooted in Joi does NOT provide:

• Medical diagnosis or treatment
• Medical advice or clinical care
• Mental health counseling or therapy
• Psychiatric services
• Emergency or crisis intervention services
• Prescribing, adjusting, or recommending medications
• Medical procedures or clinical assessments
• Legal or financial advice

Clients are encouraged to maintain relationships with their physician, midwife, therapist, mental health provider, pediatrician, and other licensed professionals as appropriate.

When concerns arise that fall outside the scope of Rooted in Joi Maternal Wellness, clients may be encouraged to seek additional support and may be provided with referrals to qualified professionals and community resources.

Rooted in Joi believes mothers deserve compassionate support, trusted resources, and a safe space to feel seen, informed, and empowered throughout their maternal journey.

Communication Policy

COMMUNICATION POLICY

Rooted in Joi Maternal Wellness is committed to providing supportive, professional, and respectful communication throughout your experience.

Office Hours

Regular office hours are:

Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: Closed
Sunday: Closed

Email & Text Support

Clients enrolled in support programs may receive email and/or text support as outlined in their specific service package.

Communication between sessions is intended for:

• Brief support and encouragement
• Resource sharing
• Accountability and follow-up
• Scheduling and administrative questions

Response Time

Messages received during office hours will typically receive a response within 1–2 business days. Messages received outside of office hours will be addressed during the next business day.

Boundaries

Rooted in Joi strives to provide compassionate support while maintaining healthy professional boundaries. Communication support is not intended to replace scheduled sessions, medical care, therapy, or emergency services.

Please note that text messaging and email should not be used for urgent medical concerns, mental health crises, or emergencies.

Emergency & Crisis Policy

EMERGENCY & CRISIS POLICY

Rooted in Joi Maternal Wellness provides non-clinical maternal wellness support, advocacy, education, and resource navigation services. Rooted in Joi does not provide emergency, medical, mental health, or crisis intervention services.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate medical attention.

If you are experiencing severe postpartum symptoms, thoughts of self-harm, thoughts of harming your baby or others, a mental health crisis, or any situation that places you or another person at risk, contact 911, your healthcare provider, a mental health professional, or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline immediately.

Messages sent to Rooted in Joi during a crisis or emergency may not be seen immediately and should never be used as a substitute for emergency services.

Rooted in Joi is honored to support mothers through pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood; however, emergency and crisis situations require immediate assistance from qualified healthcare, mental health, or emergency response professionals.
